Unveiling of Blue Plaque for the Battle of Dwarsvlei
On 11 July 1900, 1300 British soldiers under the command of General Smith-Dorrien were attacked at Dwarsvlei by 160 Boers under General Oosthuizen.
The battlefield is just two kilometres east of Maropeng.
Please join us for the ceremonial unveiling of a Blue Plaque to commemorate the Battle of Dwarsvlei fought during the South African War of 1899 to 1902.
